In all likelihood, the second largest branch of American Judaism, the Conservative Movement, will vote this week to embrace same sex marriage and the ordination of openly gay clergy.
While this has received little attention in the press and within the gay community, this stunning landmark event will actually mean that mainstream Judaism will become the first world religion to officially embrace gay men and women as fully equal members of the congregation.
